Explosions were reported near Srinagar International Airport and Awantipora Air Base on Friday evening, as Indian defense forces activated countermeasures against suspected drone attacks.
The attempted attacks come amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, following recent cross-border hostilities. In response to the security threat, civilian flight operations at Srinagar Airport have been suspended until midnight on May 15.
Residents in the vicinity were advised to remain indoors and switch off lights as a precautionary measure. The situation remains tense, with security forces on high alert across the region.
