Popular television actress Hina Khan has once again demonstrated her unwavering patriotism and resilience in the face of online hate. Amidst rising Indo-Pak tensions following Operation Sindoor, the actress publicly supported her country, India, a move that drew a barrage of abusive messages and threats from social media users.
In a strongly worded Instagram story, Hina addressed the backlash and reaffirmed her national identity. “In my life, I have only seen affection from across the border. But after voicing support for my country during and after Operation Sindoor, I have been subjected to abuse, curses, and threats — not only towards me but also targeting my medical condition, my family, and even my faith,” she wrote.
While she did not explicitly name the nationality of those trolling her, Hina’s message hinted that the vitriol may have come from individuals outside India. Despite the hurtful messages, she maintained a composed and dignified tone, saying, “I don’t expect you to support my country — support yours, that’s okay. I only hoped you would behave with the same humanity I have extended to you.”
Hina continued by making a firm declaration of her identity: “I am not anything if I am not an Indian. I will always be Indian, first. So go ahead — unfollow me. I don’t care. I didn’t abuse or curse anyone. I only supported my country.”
She concluded her message with a powerful reminder about character: “What you say defines you. What you choose reveals your ideology. How you behave in tough times reflects your humanity. It has nothing to do with me. No matter what, I will stand by my country. Jai Hind.”
This isn’t the first time Hina Khan has spoken up on socio-political issues. Her latest message underscores the emotional burden public figures often carry when they speak their truth — especially in a polarized environment.
