Mumbai : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alerts across Mumbai and Navi Mumbai for July 7, 2025, as heavy rainfall and thunderstorms continue to batter the region.
Mumbai: So far today, the city has seen intermittent light rain, temperatures around 29 °C, humidity at 80%, and winds gusting near 31 km/h. Throughout the day, residents should prepare for periods of moderate to heavy rain, cloudy skies, and occasional thunderstorm activity .
Navi Mumbai & Panvel: The IMD’s nowcast system indicates thunderstorms developing in these regions, with thunderstorms moving westward toward Mumbai. Localised heavy downpours over the next couple of hours may cause waterlogging and travel disruptions .
Regional Outlook: A broader national alert from the IMD’s 15-day outlook (July 4–9) underscores extremely heavy rainfall (≥ 210 mm) in selected parts of Maharashtra—including Mumbai—on July 6–7, alongside risks of floods, landslides, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds. Coastal and marine areas may also experience squally conditions, with wind speeds reaching 65 km/h .
