Mumbai – Torrential rain on Monday morning disrupted Mumbai’s lifeline—its local train network—with the Central and Harbour lines hit the hardest. Several low-lying railway tracks were submerged due to continuous downpour, causing major delays and train cancellations during peak hours.
Thousands of commuters were left stranded or delayed as waterlogging brought the morning rush to a crawl. The worst-affected stretches include Kurla, Sion, and Wadala, where train movement slowed considerably or halted altogether.
Railway authorities have deployed emergency teams to drain water and restore normal operations. Meanwhile, announcements and updates are being shared across platforms to keep passengers informed.
Officials have urged citizens to check live train schedules and advisories before stepping out, as heavy rain is expected to continue over the next 24 hours.
