Mumbai : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded a red alert in five Maharashtra districts, including Pune, warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall between August 17 and 21, 2025.
Authorities have urged citizens to remain cautious, while district administrations have been directed to take preventive measures to avoid mishaps.
Meanwhile, the IMD has also cautioned against rough sea conditions with wind speeds of 50–60 km/h, advising fishermen and coastal residents to stay away from the sea.
Along with Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha are also likely to witness intense downpours in the coming days, prompting officials to prepare for possible disruptions.
