Gondia, Maharashtra — In a major crackdown, the Gondia city police have uncovered a prostitution racket being run under the cover of a massage parlour in the heart of the city. Acting on a tip-off, the local crime branch raided the “Mass Makeup Studio and Body Spa Centre” located near Jaystambh Chowk bus stop.
During the operation, several women were found in compromising positions with clients. Subsequent interrogation revealed disturbing details, with one woman disclosing that she and others were being coerced into prostitution by the establishment’s owners, identified as Baliram Ghotekar and his brother Dilip Ghotekar.
A total of five women were rescued from the premises. All of them confirmed the involvement of the Ghotekar brothers, alleging they were lured with false promises of employment and money, only to be forced into sex work.
Following the revelations, the Gondia city police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956. Further investigation is underway.
