Chhatrapati Aurangabad : Sambhajinagar A heartbreaking incident was reported from Vaijapur taluka, where a young girl lost her life after floodwaters delayed her access to medical care.
The victim, identified as Vaishnavi Yogesh Jadhav from Shiur village, fell critically ill late at night. Her family rushed her to the hospital, which is normally just 15 minutes away. However, severe flooding submerged water crossings and blocked roads, turning the journey into a nearly two-hour ordeal. Tragically, she did not survive.
The loss has devastated the family, who had already suffered a bereavement just ten days earlier. Locals expressed shock and grief, while authorities highlighted the wider toll of the relentless rains in the Marathwada region, which have claimed multiple lives. As a precaution, schools in the district were ordered shut.
The incident has reignited concerns over inadequate infrastructure and emergency preparedness in flood-prone areas, underscoring the urgent need for reliable medical transport and accessible roads during extreme weather conditions.
