New Delhi : The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday arrested gangster Anmol Bishnoi, brother and close aide of notorious criminal Lawrence Bishnoi, moments after he was deported from the United States to India. His first photograph after landing in New Delhi has now surfaced, marking a major breakthrough in the multi-agency crackdown on the Bishnoi crime syndicate.

Anmol, who had been absconding since 2022, becomes the 19th accused arrested in the NIA’s terror-gangster conspiracy case (RC 39/2022/NIA/DLI). The agency had filed a chargesheet against him in March 2023, alleging that he played a key role in aiding designated terrorist Goldy Brar and his brother Lawrence in a series of terror activities carried out between 2020 and 2023.

According to the NIA, Anmol operated the Bishnoi network from the US, orchestrating extortion, providing logistical support, and offering shelter to shooters and ground operatives involved in violent attacks. He is also believed to have coordinated several criminal operations for the gang while remaining overseas.

The NIA continues to probe the broader nexus linking gangsters, terrorists, and arms smugglers, focusing on dismantling their operational systems and funding channels. Anmol’s arrest is expected to significantly strengthen ongoing efforts to cripple the Bishnoi syndicate’s activities both in India and abroad.
