Mumbai : The sacred festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, dedicated to Lord Ganesha, is being celebrated with devotion across India today, August 27.

As per the Hindu calendar, the Madhyahna Puja Muhurat—considered the most auspicious time for worship—falls between 11:05 AM and 1:40 PM. Devotees are installing Ganesha idols in homes and pandals with prayers, Vedic rituals, and offerings.

The 10-day long celebrations will conclude with Ganesh Visarjan on September 6, 2025 (Anant Chaturdashi), when devotees will immerse idols in rivers, lakes, and seas with grand processions, chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya.”

Beyond its religious significance, the festival is also a cultural celebration, marked by community gatherings, devotional songs, distribution of modaks (a favorite sweet of Lord Ganesha), and vibrant processions.
