Mumbai, June 5, 2025:-

A fire broke out at a shop inside Churchgate Railway Station on Wednesday evening, triggering momentary panic but resulting in no injuries, according to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).

The incident occurred around 5:26 PM and was quickly designated a Level 1 fire, indicating it was minor and posed no immediate threat to life or surrounding structures. Emergency response teams, including Mumbai Fire Brigade personnel, rushed to the spot and promptly began firefighting operations.

Firefighters were seen working efficiently to douse the flames while police officials cordoned off the area to prevent crowding. Authorities confirmed that no one was injured and no casualties were reported in the incident.

While there were brief disruptions near the affected area, train services continued uninterrupted, and station activity remained largely normal.

Officials are currently investigating the cause of the fire, and further updates are expected once a detailed report is filed.

The swift response and limited damage highlight the effectiveness of Mumbai’s emergency preparedness systems — especially important in high-footfall public areas like railway stations.
