A fire broke out on Monday afternoon at the entrance security check cabin of the Vidhan Bhavan premises in south Mumbai, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. Officials confirmed that the situation is now under control.

Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar acknowledged the incident and assured that the blaze had been contained without any casualties.

“The fire is under control,” he stated, adding that preliminary reports suggest the cause may have been a short circuit in the scanning machine used during security checks.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade and BMC officials responded swiftly, reaching the spot shortly after the fire was reported.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported as of now, and damage appears to be minimal. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and an official report is expected soon.
