Mumbai : A tragic accident occurred early this morning near the Bhavani Petrol Pump on JVLR in Powai, Mumbai, when a two-wheeler collided with a Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) bus. The incident resulted in the death of 22-year-old Devansh Patel and left his friend, Swapnil Vishwakarma, critically injured.
The two young men, residents of Andheri MIDC, had visited Lalbaugcha Raja for the Ganesh festival and were returning home on their Activa scooter when the collision took place. The accident occurred during the early hours when traffic was light, but the severity of the crash prompted immediate police response.
Swapnil was rushed to a nearby hospital’s Intensive Care Unit for treatment. Authorities have registered a case and are investigating the cause of the accident, including potential negligence on the part of the bus driver.
This incident highlights ongoing concerns about road safety and the need for increased vigilance, especially during festive periods when traffic volumes are higher.
