Dombivli’s Endless Traffic Woes: MNS Leader Raju Patil Blasts Authorities

Dombivli residents continue to endure daily traffic gridlocks caused by narrow roads, potholes, a booming population, and a surge in vehicles. The notorious Shil Phata bottleneck on the Dombivli–Navi Mumbai route has remained unresolved for years, despite lakhs of vehicles passing through the stretch every day.

The under-construction flyover at Palava has recently become a hot political topic, but it has done little to ease commuters’ misery. Even on Raksha Bandhan, long queues of vehicles on Shil Phata Road left many families stuck on their way to celebrate the festival.

MNS leader and former Kalyan Rural MLA Raju Patil took to social media to deliver a scathing attack on the administration. “Year after year, it’s the same road, the same traffic, the same suffocation, and the same demands. We’re now embarrassed to raise the same issue with the government again and again. Citizens’ lives, time, and wellbeing mean nothing to them,” he wrote.

Patil accused the authorities of turning road and bridge projects into opportunities for corruption, enjoying VIP privileges and air travel, while the common man remains trapped in endless congestion. “Half of Kalyan-Dombivli residents’ lives will begin and end in traffic jams,” he warned.
