Dombivli Namaz Assault Sparks Security Concerns; Muslim Community Seeks Protection

Mumbai : A disturbing incident in Dombivli, Maharashtra, has raised serious security concerns within the Muslim community. Two youths were allegedly attacked in Khoni while heading to offer namaz, reportedly in the presence of police officers. The attackers were said to be led by Hanuman Thomber, the local Sarpanch and a Shiv Sena (Shinde group) supporter.

Victims allege that this is not the first such incident, claiming similar attacks have taken place over the past six months without adequate police action. Following the assault, members of the Muslim community gathered at the office of DCP Kalyan-DFC, Atul Zende, to demand answers, but frustration grew when they were unable to meet him.

One of the victims, Mohammed Nihal, questioned, “What about our safety? Are we not allowed to pray according to our faith?” Another resident, Sayyed Mohammed Gaus, called for immediate and strict action against the accused.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (Shinde group) district chief Gopal Landge assured that the matter would be addressed and promised that such incidents would not be repeated. However, the community insists that only firm police action can restore trust and ensure safety in the area.
