Pahalgam :- Three tourists from Dombivali, Maharashtra, were killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam on Wednesday, sparking grief and outrage in their hometown. Authorities in Thane district have swiftly launched a dedicated helpline to assist locals currently visiting Kashmir.
The victims, part of a tourist group exploring the popular Himalayan destination, were caught in the assault, the specifics of which are still being probed. Security forces have stepped up counter-terror operations in the region following the incident.
To aid distressed families and travelers, the Thane district administration has established a 24-hour helpline. “We are coordinating with J&K officials to ensure all possible support, including emergency assistance and information,” stated a district spokesperson.
The attack has reignited concerns over tourist safety in Kashmir, despite government assurances of heightened security. Political leaders and civil society groups have condemned the violence, offering condolences to the bereaved families.
