Mumbai :– A Mumbai court has warned actress Malaika Arora that a non-bailable warrant may be issued against her if she fails to appear in court regarding the 2012 hotel brawl case involving actor Saif Ali Khan.
The incident occurred in February 2012 at Mumbai’s Taj Mahal Hotel, where Saif Ali Khan, accompanied by Kareena Kapoor and two others, allegedly assaulted South African businessman Iqbal Sharma. Malaika Arora was present during the altercation and was named as a key witness.
Despite being summoned multiple times, Arora has yet to appear in court to provide her testimony. The court has now issued a final warning, stating that if she remains absent at the next hearing, legal proceedings—including a non-bailable warrant—may follow.
Saif Ali Khan and his co-accused have denied the assault charges, maintaining that the confrontation was an act of self-defense. The case has dragged on for years, largely due to the repeated absence of witnesses.
The next hearing is set for [upcoming date], and the court is expected to take decisive action should Arora fail to comply. Legal observers believe this signals the judiciary’s intent to bring the prolonged case to a conclusion.
