Mumbai:
In a move aimed at streamlining Mumbai’s power restoration efforts, the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) Undertaking has issued a public advisory encouraging citizens to report power outages directly to senior officials.
Residents from Colaba to Mahim have been specifically urged to email the General Manager of BEST if they experience electricity disruptions. The initiative is part of a larger plan to boost accountability and ensure faster technical response times in one of the city’s most densely populated corridors.
“Timely feedback from citizens helps us detect issues quicker and deploy repair teams without delay,” a BEST official said. “The public’s cooperation is essential to maintaining uninterrupted power supply across Mumbai.”
Consumers can now email outage complaints directly to the following addresses:
BEST also emphasized that direct reporting will reduce dependency on local complaints alone and offer the administration clearer insight into recurring grid-level issues.
The move comes at a time when Mumbai’s rising energy demands and unpredictable weather conditions have made robust electrical infrastructure more critical than ever.
