Mumbai :– A high-level review meeting on important CIDCO projects in Navi Mumbai was held today at the Sahyadri Guest House under the chairmanship of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The meeting focused on accelerating infrastructure development, particularly around the upcoming Navi Mumbai International Airport.
Chief Minister Fadnavis emphasized the need for multi-modal connectivity to the airport, including roadways, metro lines, rail networks, and waterways, offering a variety of transit options for passengers. A water taxi service will also be introduced, making it the first international airport in India to offer such a facility.
The Chief Minister instructed authorities to fast-track construction of general aviation facilities, aircraft parking, and repair infrastructure. He also stressed the importance of completing metro, road, and water transport routes on time, with a clear roadmap and deadlines.
Special attention was given to infrastructure under the Naina project, which involves planning for future transport demands. Fadnavis also directed CIDCO to ensure affordable and quality housing projects near metro stations connecting to the airport.
Regarding recreational infrastructure, he urged timely completion of the Kharghar Valley Golf Course and other ongoing sports projects in Navi Mumbai.
State Minister Madhuri Misal, senior government officials, and CIDCO representatives were present during the review.
