Pune : In a significant development announced on August 8, 2025, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis revealed plans to bolster Pune’s law enforcement infrastructure. The city is set to receive five new police stations, strategically located in Lohgaon, Narhe, Manjri, Lakshminagar, and Yevalewadi, aimed at addressing rising crime and urban expansion. In addition, 1,000 newly trained police personnel will soon be inducted into the Pune force as part of a state-wide recruitment initiative involving 20,000 trainees.
This dual enhancement in infrastructure and manpower represents a long-awaited, forward-looking strategy to modernize policing in Pune and enhance public safety throughout the rapidly growing city.
