Today, BJP MLA and leader Pravin Darekar found himself stuck in an elevator in Sion (mistakenly referred to as Palghar in some reports). The lift malfunctioned, trapping him inside. Upon learning the situation, his party workers and nearby locals quickly arrived at the scene and forcibly opened the elevator’s doors, rescuing him unharmed. Thankfully, no one was injured, averting what could have been a serious incident. A small crowd of supporters and media gathered at the site, and the event rapidly spread across social media.
Concerns are now being raised over lax maintenance practices, as the “negligence” of the lift’s management may have played a key role in the mishap. Questions are being asked about the building’s safety protocols and upkeep.
