Mumbai:- In a dazzling celebration of Maharashtra’s cultural heritage and sporting dynamism, the Pro Govinda League Season 3 launched its campaign with an electrifying team auction event in Mumbai, unveiling global cricket icon Chris Gayle as the official brand ambassador for the season.
The high-octane auction saw 16 elite Govinda teams snapped up by enthusiastic owners in intense bidding battles, marking the beginning of what promises to be the league’s most thrilling and competitive edition yet. With Gayle’s international stature now associated with the event, the league takes a bold step towards global recognition.
“This is not just about competition; it’s about transforming tradition into a structured sport,” said League President Mr. Purvesh Sarnaik, adding that Chris Gayle’s involvement elevates the league’s global profile and encourages India’s youth to embrace adventure sports.
For the first time, team names are no longer limited to Maharashtra-centric identities. Teams from across India, including Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow, and Hyderabad, reflect the league’s growing national appeal.
In a major boost for players, the league announced a ₹1.5 crore prize pool, with the winning team set to bag ₹75 lakhs, and additional payouts for the second and third positions. Every participating team will also receive ₹3 lakhs, ensuring widespread support and recognition.
The grand Season 3 finale will be held from August 7 to 9, 2025, at Dome SVP Stadium, Worli, Mumbai, promising high-energy performances, cultural showcases, and edge-of-the-seat action.
