Chandrapur : A tragic incident has shaken Chandrapur district on the eve of the Pola festival. Ganpat Bhauji Nagapure, a farmer from Adegāon village in Gondpipri taluka, ended his life by spraying pesticide in his own field.
Nagapure had cultivated cotton and grains on his three-acre farmland, but the recent flooding of the Wardha River left his crops devastated. Unable to cope with the loss, he reportedly took the extreme step while standing in his field, leaving the village in shock.
Pola, a festival that usually brings joy as farmers decorate and honor their bullocks, has been overshadowed by grief in Adegāon. Instead of celebrations, the community now mourns the untimely death of one of its farmers.
