In a spirited showcase of talent and dedication, In Major City organized two significant events consecutively on Sunday at Marathi Sahitya Mandir, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. Led by Director Sunil Kumar Prabhakaran, the gatherings brought together educators, healthcare workers, community leaders, and students from Navi Mumbai and Raigad.
The celebrations commenced with the Annual School Toppers Award, where outstanding Class 10 students from 29 schools were honoured for their stellar performance in the recent board exams. Proud parents, principals, and teachers stood alongside these young achievers as they received accolades and motivational messages encouraging them to continue striving with determination and clarity of purpose.
Prominent educationist Dr. Biswajeet Mukherjee inspired the students by emphasizing the power of learning from the journeys of others.
“When you dream of achieving something, immerse yourself in the lives of those who have succeeded. Read their stories, ask questions, plan your future, and embrace both triumphs and setbacks as part of your growth,” he advised. Dr. Mukherjee also encouraged daily journaling as a tool for reflection and personal development.
Later, the venue paid tribute to healthcare professionals with the Aarogyam Dhanasampada ceremony, coinciding with the eve of National Doctors’ Day on July 1. Thirty doctors and medical staff from Navi Mumbai and Raigad were recognized for their unwavering commitment to public health.
Special Lifetime Achievement Awards were bestowed upon Dr. Narayan Bhaurao Auti, Dr. Alka Rajpuria and Dr. Premchand B. Jain.
The event opened with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing enlightenment and hope. This was beautifully complemented by an elegant Bharatanatyam performance by Tapasya Vinod, a dance instructor from Shree Balaji International School, which enriched the cultural fabric of the occasion.
In his opening remarks, Sunil Kumar Prabhakaran highlighted the shared value of excellence across disciplines: “Whether it’s a student reaching academic heights or a doctor devoted to healing, both deserve our heartfelt recognition.”
Attendees, including school and hospital representatives, praised the event for uniting two vital pillars of society—education and healthcare. Parents expressed how honoring achievers publicly motivates children to aim higher, while doctors appreciated the acknowledgment beyond their demanding professional roles.
The program closed with a vote of thanks, extending gratitude to coordinators, healthcare professionals, volunteers, and partners who made the event successful.
