Ceasefire Shattered: Pakistan Launches Cross-Border Attacks Hours After Truce Deal

ust hours after India and Pakistan announced a mutual ceasefire, Pakistan violated the agreement along multiple points on the International Border and Line of Control (LoC) on Saturday, according to official sources. The Border Security Force (BSF) has been instructed to respond decisively to any violations.

The escalation came shortly after India declared that both countries had reached a ceasefire agreement during talks initiated by Pakistan. The Pakistan government confirmed the development as well.

Despite the announcement, explosions were reported in Srinagar, prompting authorities to impose a blackout in the area. Drone activity was also reported, with one UAV shot down in Pokhran, Rajasthan, and another in Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir.

Artillery shelling by the Pakistan Army was reported across several sectors along the International Border, including Akhnoor, Rajouri, and RS Pura. Ceasefire violations were also confirmed in the Palanwalla sector along the LoC in Jammu.

In Baramulla, a drone was neutralized and additional UAV sightings were reported. Blackouts were imposed in both Baramulla and Srinagar. Drone activity was also observed in Rajouri, and air raid sirens were sounded in the Samba district of Jammu region.

Reacting to the developments, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tweeted:
“What the hell just happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!”
In a follow-up post, he added:
“This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up,” while sharing footage of what he claimed was the drone attack.
