Bus crash on Airoli Bridge leaves seven injured in Mumbai

Mumbai : A commuter bus operated by Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking (BEST) collided with a tempo on the Airoli Bridge this morning, injuring seven people.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m., when the BEST bus and a tempo vehicle came into contact, resulting in several passengers and the tempo driver sustaining injuries. The injured were transported to nearby hospitals, and two of them have been admitted for further treatment while the others are being attended to as out-patients.

City authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, including whether driver error or mechanical failure played a role.

Traffic on the Airoli Bridge was impacted for some time following the accident as emergency services cleared the scene and redirected vehicles.

Local transport officials said that timely medical attention was provided, and they are coordinating with police to examine CCTV footage and interview witnesses to establish the sequence of events.
