Bridge Foundation Work Begins on Mumbai Coastal Road (North) at Goregaon; BMC’s Abhijit Bangar Inspects Site

Mumbai : The foundation work for a 2-kilometer bridge segment under the Mumbai Coastal Road (North) project’s Package B has officially commenced in the ‘Non-CRZ’ (Coastal Regulation Zone) area near Goregaon. The work is being carried out under the jurisdiction of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), and Additional Municipal Commissioner (Projects) Shri Abhijit Bangar personally inspected the progress on Wednesday.
Shri Bangar clarified that no construction activity can take place in CRZ-designated areas without obtaining all necessary clearances. He emphasized the importance of adhering to legal and environmental regulations throughout the course of the project.
The Mumbai Coastal Road (North) project is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in western suburbs including Versova, Andheri (West), Malad, Goregaon, Kandivali, Borivali, and Dahisar. It promises to reduce travel time, lower fuel consumption, and enhance overall traffic management.
During his visit, Shri Bangar urged authorities to accelerate the project by proactively coordinating with various departments and resolving potential bottlenecks. He stressed the need for regular follow-ups with government bodies and boards to ensure the timely completion of this vital infrastructure initiative.
Officials from the Metropolitan Pool Division, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC), and Adani Electricity Company were also present during the site inspection.
