Brake Failure in Police Van Causes Multi-Vehicle Crash Near MRA Marg Police Station

Mumbai :— A major accident occurred on Wednesday, April 23, near MRA Marg Police Station after a police van reportedly experienced a brake failure, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision involving four to five vehicles.
Thankfully, no fatalities were reported, but several individuals—including police personnel and three visually impaired pedestrians—sustained injuries.
Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene, and all injured individuals were promptly taken to the nearest hospital and police station for medical attention.
Vijay Kanojia, Secretary of the Mumbai Congress, was present at the site along with members of the Mumbai Youth Congress. They provided immediate assistance to the injured and coordinated with local authorities for further support.
Speaking to the media, Kanojia expressed concern over the incident, stating, “A brake failure in a police vehicle is a serious issue. Routine inspections are essential for all police vehicles. This accident highlights negligence within the department.”
He further urged the police department to implement strict and regular maintenance checks to ensure the safety of both officers and the public.
