Palghar, Maharashtra – June 26, 2025:
Panic gripped Nalasopara West on Wednesday morning after bomb threats were emailed to two local schools—Mother Mary and Rahul International—prompting a swift evacuation of students and staff. The anonymous email, received around 4:30 AM, claimed that 800 kg of RDX had been planted on the campuses.
School authorities immediately contacted the Nalasopara Police. Responding teams, including the Vasai-Virar Fire Brigade, Crime Branch Unit 3, and bomb detection and disposal squads, conducted intensive searches of both schools. After several hours, officials confirmed that no explosives or suspicious materials were found.
DCP Jayant Bajbale (Zone 3) confirmed the threats and said an investigation is underway to trace the source of the email. He also noted that a similar threat had recently targeted a school in Mira Road, raising concerns about a possible trend.
While the threats turned out to be hoaxes, police emphasized that such incidents are being treated with utmost seriousness. Both school campuses remain under surveillance as inquiries continue.
Authorities have urged the public not to panic but to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
