Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) and KPMG India, has organised a three-day workshop on the theme “Urban Disaster Risk Resilience” from September 8 to 10, 2025.
The workshop was inaugurated today by Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Shri Bhushan Gagrani, who reaffirmed BMC’s commitment to strengthening Mumbai’s preparedness against both natural and man-made disasters. He stressed that the civic body remains dedicated to safeguarding citizens by adopting global best practices, conducting research, and implementing innovative disaster risk reduction strategies.
The event witnessed participation from key officials, including Additional Municipal Commissioners Dr. Amit Saini and Shri Abhijeet Bangar, District Collector (Mumbai City) Smt. Anchal Sood Goyal, UNDRR’s Shri Sanjay Bhatia and Smt. Mutarika Pruksapang, Chairman of the Incheon Environmental Corporation Dr. Gyewoon Choi, and KPMG India Partner Shri Neelachal Mishra, along with representatives from various governmental and non-governmental organisations.
