Mumbai : A joint meeting between the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and office bearers of Mumbai’s Public Ganeshotsav Mandals was held today at the ‘F South’ division office in Parel, under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (Zone 2) and Ganeshotsav Coordinator, Shri Prashant Sapkale.
Deputy Commissioner (Environment and Environmental Change) Mr. Avinash Kate, Assistant Commissioners from various administrative departments, and representatives from several Ganeshotsav mandals also attended the meeting.
In a significant update, BMC announced plans to construct more artificial lakes this year compared to last year, aiming to promote eco-friendly celebrations during Ganeshotsav 2025.
Deputy Commissioner Sapkale appealed to Mumbaikars to immerse their idols in artificial ponds and actively support the eco-conscious initiative led by the civic body.
