BMC Fines ₹65,000 in a Day for Littering Across Mumbai

Munbai : The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has taken strict action against those spreading garbage in public areas across Mumbai. In a one-day cleanliness drive, the civic body collected fines amounting to ₹65,000 from individuals and establishments violating cleanliness norms.

According to officials, the drive aimed to promote hygiene and discourage irresponsible waste disposal in the city. BMC teams were deployed across various wards, focusing on busy public spaces and commercial zones. Several violators were caught dumping garbage in unauthorized spots and were penalized on the spot.

The BMC has urged citizens to dispose of waste responsibly and cooperate in maintaining cleanliness under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Authorities have also warned that regular drives and stricter action will continue in the coming days.
