Mumbai The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has banned the transportation of wet garbage from residential and commercial complexes by third-party organizations. As per a directive from Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. (Mrs) Ashwini Joshi, establishments must either process waste on their premises or hand it directly to the BMC.
During a review meeting at BMC headquarters, it was also announced that complexes processing their own waste will receive property tax concessions. Deputy Commissioner (Solid Waste Management) Kiran Dighavkar and other officials were present.
Additionally, all bulk waste generators must register for the “Domestic Sanitary and Special Care Waste Collection” service via the official online form provided by BMC.
