Mumbai : In a festive gesture ahead of Diwali, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a ₹31,000 goodwill bonus for its employees, as well as for teaching and non-teaching staff of private aided primary and secondary schools.
According to the civic body, the Diwali gift will also extend to teaching assistants, education service workers, and employees of both aided and unaided teacher training institutions.

Community health workers will receive ₹14,000 as a special Diwali incentive.
Kindergarten teachers and assistants will be granted ₹5,000 as a Bhai Dooj gift.
The initiative reflects BMC’s commitment to employee welfare and festive goodwill. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, conveyed Diwali greetings to all civic staff and education workers, appreciating their service and dedication throughout the year.
