Beed :- A 25-year-old youth was beaten to death in a shocking case of mob brutality in Devla village of Ambajogai taluka, Beed district. The victim, Avinash Goroba Sagt, succumbed to severe injuries after being held and tortured over two days by villagers.
The incident began when Avinash went to a relative’s house to collect fish. Finding no one home, he entered the premises, which angered a woman named Vimal Sagt. She raised an alarm, accusing him of wrongdoing. Soon after, several villagers surrounded Avinash and began assaulting him publicly.
The next day, the attackers forcibly took him near a canal and continued the brutal beating using bamboo sticks, wooden rods, and kicks. He sustained critical internal injuries and was later admitted to Ambajogai Government Hospital, where he died during treatment.
Police have registered a case of murder against seven accused, of whom two have been arrested while the others remain absconding. A manhunt is underway.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the region, raising serious concerns about mob violence and lawlessness in rural Maharashtra.
