The Charkop Police have arrested Dolly Kotak, a private bank employee, for allegedly extorting ₹1 crore from her former partner, an IT professional. The case came to light after the victim was released on bail in a separate legal matter.

According to reports, Kotak approached the victim’s sister at the court premises and demanded ₹1 crore in exchange for a No Objection statement. She also allegedly threatened to defame the victim through the media, a threat she later carried out. The harassment reportedly continued through phone calls, messages, and even uninvited visits to the victim’s lawyer’s office.

The situation escalated when Kotak, with the help of three other bank employees, allegedly accessed the victim’s confidential bank data, tracked his movements, and logged into his online banking accounts without consent. She also sent threatening messages and emails to his company’s HR department, leading to his termination.

After initial police inaction, a magistrate intervened and directed the registration of an FIR. Six people have been booked under sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Information Technology (IT) Act, and the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
