Bangladesh Air Force Jet Crashes Into Dhaka School; One Dead, Several Injured

Dhaka : A Bangladesh Air Force training jet crashed into Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara area on Monday afternoon, killing one and injuring several others, including students.

The Chinese-made F-7 BGI fighter jet went down around 1:06 PM, striking the school’s entrance and canteen area during class hours. The crash triggered a massive fire and thick smoke, causing panic among students and staff.

Rescue operations began immediately, with fire services, army personnel, and locals helping to evacuate the injured. Several students were hospitalized with burn injuries, and visuals from the scene showed chaos, fire, and plumes of black smoke.

Officials confirmed the pilot died in the crash, though it remains unclear if they ejected in time. The Bangladesh Air Force has launched an investigation into the incident.

Prime Minister Muhammad Yunus expressed deep concern and directed authorities to provide full support to the victims and their families.
