News: The Assam Panchayat Elections are scheduled to be held in two phases: on May 2, 2025, and May 7, 2025. These elections will fill a total of 26,784 posts across various local bodies, including Zila Parishads, Anchalik Panchayats, Gaon Panchayats (both Part I and Part II), and Gaon Panchayat (Women’s) seats. The elections were delayed due to a High Court verdict concerning the delimitation exercise in Sribhumi district (formerly Karimganj district) and the timing of the Assam Higher Secondary exams.
