Amravati: In a significant crackdown, the Amravati Crime Branch has seized 110 grams of a banned narcotic substance popularly known as ‘White Rice’, with an estimated value of ₹38 lakh. The seizure took place during a special operation aimed at curbing drug trafficking in the region.
Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted suspects and recovered the high-value contraband. The substance, though resembling regular rice, is actually a synthetic drug that has been increasingly circulated under code names to avoid detection.
The accused have been taken into custody, and a detailed investigation is underway to trace the supply chain and other individuals involved in the racket. The seized material has been sent for forensic testing.
Police officials praised the efforts of the Crime Branch and emphasized the department’s commitment to fight against the rising drug menace in the region.
