Amit Shah, Fadnavis Lay Foundation of ‘Swasti Niwas’ at NCI Nagpur

Nagpur, May 26, 2025:-
Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today performed the bhoomipujan for ‘Swasti Niwas’, a new patient-family accommodation facility at the National Cancer Institute (NCI) in Nagpur.
The initiative, led by Abaji Thatte Seva Aur Anusandhan Sanstha and supported under Pernod Ricard India’s CSR program, aims to ease the burden on families of cancer patients who often travel from remote areas for treatment.

•Designed to reduce treatment delays and ease financial strain
CM Fadnavis emphasized that ‘Swasti Niwas’ would bring dignity and comfort to cancer patients’ families by ensuring affordable and accessible housing during treatment.
The state government also reaffirmed its goal of making NCI a national leader in cancer research and care.
Dignitaries present included Minister Chandrashekhar Bavankule, MLA Sameer Meghe, and Pernod Ricard India CEO Jean Touboul.
