Actress Alia Bhatt is set to make her red carpet debut at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year as the global ambassador for beauty brand L’Oréal Paris. She will join fellow L’Oréal ambassador Aishwarya Rai at the event, which will be held from May 13 to May 24. This year also marks L’Oréal Paris’s 28th anniversary at the celebrated film gala.
Announcing the news, Alia expressed her excitement about attending the festival for the first time. In a statement reported by news agency ANI, she said,
“There’s something absolutely special about firsts — and I’m so excited to make my Festival de Cannes debut this year, an iconic celebration of cinema and self-expression. It is such an honour to represent L’Oréal Paris at the Festival with this year’s theme, ‘Lights, Beauty and Action’.”
She added,
“To me, beauty is about celebrating individuality, confidence, and self-worth. It’s limitless, it’s unique. I’m proud to stand with a brand that celebrates every woman’s journey and empowers them to shine in their own light.”
Alongside Alia and Aishwarya, L’Oréal Paris will be represented on the red carpet by several international ambassadors, including Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio, and Yseult.
Recently, Alia was also seen at the WAVES Summit in Mumbai, where she paid tribute to Maharashtra Day by wearing a traditional Paithani sari draped in the Maharashtrian style.
On the work front, fans can look forward to seeing Alia in her upcoming film Alpha, directed by Shiv Rawail. The film is a part of Yash Raj Films’ acclaimed spy universe and is scheduled for release on December 25. In addition, she will star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War, alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
