Navi Mumbai:- In a united show of civic action, residents of Kharghar held a peaceful protest at Shah Arcade in Sector 6 on Wednesday, demanding a complete ban on liquor outlets in the locality. The sit-in, organized under the “Liquor-Free Kharghar” movement, began at 11:00 AM and saw participation from concerned citizens, social activists, and community leaders.
Demonstrators voiced growing concerns over the proliferation of liquor shops in the area, which they believe pose a threat to public safety, especially for families and youth. “Making Kharghar a liquor-free zone is vital for protecting the health and safety of our future generations,” said one of the organisers.
The protesters urged local authorities to take immediate action, including revoking the licenses of existing liquor vendors. They also called on residents to stay vigilant and continue supporting the movement until concrete steps are taken.
With a focus on long-term community well-being, the Liquor-Free Kharghar campaign aims to create a safer, healthier, and more peaceful living environment for all.
