In a horrifying case of domestic violence, a 24-year-old chef working at a prominent Mumbai hotel brutally murdered his live-in partner at their Mira Road residence in Thane district on the night of June 12, 2025. The accused, identified as Shamsuddin Mohammad Khursheed Hasif, allegedly killed Karina Ali, also 24, following a heated argument that spiraled into a fatal attack.
According to police sources, Shamsuddin suspected Karina—who worked as a bar dancer—of being involved with another man. The couple reportedly had frequent arguments over her phone interactions. On the night of the incident, Shamsuddin allegedly saw Karina talking to someone on the phone, which triggered a violent outburst. In a fit of rage, he stabbed her multiple times with a sharp knife, leading to her death.
After committing the crime, the accused fled the scene. However, alert neighbors noticed the open door and raised an alarm, prompting a swift police response. The Mira Road police arrived at the spot, conducted a panchnama, and sent Karina’s body for post-mortem examination. Within four hours, Shamsuddin was tracked down and arrested.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Prakash Gaikwad confirmed that a case of murder has been registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather further evidence and determine the full motive behind the crime.
This tragic incident has shocked residents in the Mira Road area, raising concerns over rising instances of violent crimes stemming from toxic relationships.
