Mumbai, June 4, 2025 — Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani on Tuesday conducted inspections across the city to review key pre-monsoon infrastructure works, focusing on flood preparedness and road completion.

Gagrani visited several critical locations, including eastern suburbs and inner-city areas, to assess water storage readiness and the progress of cement concrete road works.

During his visit, he issued directives to improve operations at the Hindmata and Gandhi Market flood mitigation centers — both of which are key flood-prone zones. Gagrani instructed officials to install flow meters, balance pump capacities, and deploy additional manpower and diesel-powered pumps to prevent waterlogging.

He also stressed the need for preventive action around Chunabhatti Railway Station to avoid disruptions to Harbour Line train services during heavy rainfall.

Further, Gagrani ordered that roadwork barricades be removed promptly after project completion, footpaths restored, and construction debris cleared without delay.

The commissioner also inspected the Civil Facility Center in the F South Division and urged assistant commissioners to carry out regular reviews to maintain readiness throughout the monsoon season.

Senior officials including Deputy Commissioner Devidas Kshirsagar, L Division’s Dhanaji Herlekar, F South’s Mahesh Patil, and F North’s Arun Kshirsagar accompanied him during the inspection tour.
