Mumbai commuters should prepare for notable travel disruptions on Sunday, June 1, 2025, as Central Railway conducts a mega block for essential maintenance work. The scheduled block will affect both Central and Harbour Line services during key hours of the day.
Train movement on the Central Line will be disrupted between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Vidyavihar from 10:55 AM to 3:55 PM. During this period, down slow trains departing from CSMT will be diverted to the down fast line, halting only at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla, before rejoining the slow line at Vidyavihar.
For up slow services, trains beginning their journey from Ghatkopar between 10:19 AM and 3:52 PM will shift to the up fast line, stopping at Kurla, Sion, Matunga, Dadar, Parel, and Byculla en route to CSMT.
On the Harbour Line, services will be completely suspended between CSMT and Chunabhatti/Bandra from 11:40 AM to 4:40 PM (down direction) and from 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM (up direction). Additionally, trains between CSMT/Wadala Road and Panvel/Belapur/Vashi will not operate between 11:16 AM and 4:47 PM, while return services from Panvel/Belapur/Vashi to CSMT will remain suspended from 9:53 AM to 3:20 PM.
To ease the inconvenience, special services will run between Panvel and Kurla (Platform No. 8) during the block period. Commuters on the Harbour Line are also advised to use the Main Line or Western Railway as alternative travel options between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Central Railway has urged all passengers to plan ahead and stay updated through official channels. While these scheduled blocks may cause temporary delays, they are crucial for ensuring the long-term safety and reliability of the city’s railway infrastructure.
