In a big political move, former MLA from Nashik district Nirmala Gavit, along with over 1,500 women workers from Igatpuri and Trimbakeshwar, officially joined the Shiv Sena today. The event took place in the presence of Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Also joining the party were leaders from the Ubatha group. This large-scale joining is seen as a major step to strengthen Shiv Sena’s base ahead of upcoming local and state elections.
Party leaders welcomed the new members warmly and promised that popular welfare schemes like “Dear Sister,” “Dear Brothers,” and “Dear Farmers” would continue without any break. They said the Mahayuti alliance is committed to keeping its promises in the coming elections.
Speaking at the event, senior leaders asked party workers to build Shiv Sena’s image stronger in villages and towns by living the motto:
“Shiv Sena in every village, a Shiv Sainik in every home.”
They also spoke about the struggles of women working under the School Nutrition Diet Scheme. Shiv Sena leaders assured that they will soon discuss these problems with School Education Minister Dadaji Bhuse and try to bring better solutions for jobs and development.
