Spiti Police Initiate Probe; Netizens Urge Celebrities to Set Safety Standards
Spiti Valley, May 28, 2025 — Actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has sparked controversy after a video surfaced online showing him riding a motorcycle without a helmet during a recent visit to Himachal Pradesh’s Spiti Valley. The video, which quickly went viral across social media platforms, has triggered public concern and criticism over road safety violations.
In response, Spiti Police have launched a preliminary inquiry into the incident. “We are aware of the viral video involving Mr. Sonu Sood and have initiated an investigation. Appropriate action will be taken based on the findings,” a police official confirmed.
As of now, Sood has not made any public statement addressing the video or the criticism it has attracted.
Road safety advocates and concerned citizens have taken to social media to express disappointment, stressing that celebrities and public figures must lead by example when it comes to following traffic laws. Many highlighted that while the actor is known for his humanitarian efforts, disregarding safety norms—especially in high-risk regions like Spiti—can send the wrong message to fans and the general public.
