A 40-year-old man, Hasan Shaikh, was fatally assaulted in Mahim West late on May 14 after being accused of theft. Mohammad Aslam Ansari has been booked for murder following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family.
According to police, the incident took place around 11:50 PM when Hasan was drinking with a friend named Vyanka. Ansari confronted them, accusing them of planning a theft, which led to a heated argument. The altercation escalated, and Ansari allegedly attacked Hasan physically.
Hasan sustained severe injuries and was rushed to Bhabha Hospital by his family, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 1:30 AM on May 15.
Mahim Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and have launched a thorough investigation.
