Major tourist attractions like Qutub Minar and Lotus Temple will see added police and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel deployment. A Delhi Police officer said security at Qutub Minar will be ramped up from 12 pm when the crowd starts to swarm in.
Meanwhile, paramilitary commandos, SWAT teams, and heightened vigilance have been deployed in key areas of the New Delhi district, and police personnel in other districts also conduct ‘extra’ security checks, a senior police officer said. The local police and the paramilitary personnel have also been deployed at the CGO Complex, which houses sensitive government offices, in South Delhi.
