India has begun building a power transmission system to support upcoming hydroelectric projects on the Chenab River in Jammu and Kashmir.
This includes 400 kV lines for the Pakal Dul (1,000 MW), Kiru (624 MW), and Kwar (540 MW) dams. The move follows India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty with Pakistan, escalating regional tensions.
