Mumbai Police Bust Counterfeit Currency Syndicate, Arrest Three

In a major breakthrough, the Mumbai Police Crime Branch has busted a counterfeit currency operation and arrested three individuals involved in the production and distribution of fake foreign notes.

Acting on a tip-off, officers raided a location in the city and recovered high-quality forged US dollars and euros, along with printing machinery and other tools used in the illegal operation.

Preliminary investigations reveal that the accused were part of a larger organized syndicate targeting tourists, business professionals, and individuals seeking foreign currency at attractive rates.

“The group operated with extreme caution, manufacturing counterfeit notes that closely resembled genuine currency,” said a senior police official. “Our investigation is ongoing to expose the wider network and uncover links to other criminal activities.”

Authorities have urged the public to conduct currency exchanges only through licensed dealers and banks to protect themselves from such fraud. Efforts are underway to identify additional suspects and determine the full scope of the operation.

Further updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
